This is something that I have been doing for a long time!
I began writing a journal at the age of seven years old. Since then and with the help of teachers and family, I knew I wanted to be a writer.
The first home computer was introduced by IBM when I was fourteen years old and that would have been in about 1986.
The Internet reached mass consumption around the millennium of 2000, and to think that social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and X, were not around fully until about seven years later.
There was a friend of mine in about 1993 that I first saw using email in a small room at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada where we were both studying journalism. I thought it was so strange what he was doing and honestly at that time it looked it so bizarre.
Now thirty years later, a period that is longer than the ages of my nieces, I tend to use email daily. I am finding over the past ten years minimum that it is a wonderful way to make notes to yourself of things you want to remember just as I sometimes use paper journals. Moleskines are one of my favorites and I have one that my brother gave to me a number of Christmases ago. I still do enjoy writing things down on paper, however, email also comes in as a handy way to keep your memory working for you if writing things down works for you to remember as it does for me.
